 Teakwon-do is a korean martial art which was founded by General Choi Hong Hi in 1955 were Taekwon-do was given offical recongnition. Where in 1966 the International Taekwon-do Federation { I.T.F.} was formed by General Choi and this allowed him to set about his personal dream of promoting Taekwon-do all over the world. 
Taekwon-do consists of ten colour belts from white up to black tag and nine black belts 1st degree up to 9th degree which is grandmaster.

During training in taekwon-do students will learn patterns or tul's where a new pattern is learned at each grade as they progress through the belts they are nine colour belt pattern's.

Then sparring is another part where two students fight for a two minute round on point-scoring basis. All kicks and punches must be delivered above the belt and to the front of the head and body.

 As with most martial arts Etiquette is most important and Taekwon-do have five points in which students must follow
